Ardnamurchan estate offers excellent woodcock shooting through November to January with the mild maritime climate encouraging a good number of these diminutive birds each winter. The packages are usually based at Glenborrodale Castle with four nights accommodation and three days shooting over dogs. The groups are limited to five guns with a bag limit of 30 birds per day. These trips are normally Wednesday to Sunday breaks and can cater for five guns plus their partners or friends with shooting from Thursday to Saturday. The prices include all dog work and transport around the shooting areas and full board accommodation in Glenborrodale castle.
Rough shooting
For those seeking a more mixed challenge we offer rough shooting with our partner estates. Rough shooting offers the sportsman the challenging experience of traditional shooting over gundogs with the guidance of an experienced gamekeeper. Every day offers a varied game bag and no two days are the same.
Pheasant, partridge, snipe, woodpigeon and woodcock as well as rabbits are all acceptable quarry on the day which can often conclude with an evening flight for wild duck (mallard, teal and widgeon) or geese.
Rough shooting is normally available for groups of up to eight guns who wish to enjoy a more tradition style of shooting, and accommodation in a comfortable Scottish hotel.
