Ardnamurchan is known in Scotland as one of the superior trout fishing locations – the possibilities here are only limited by your time. A reasonable degree of fitness is required to visit the remoter trout lochs. Our skilled and experienced fishing guides will be only too happy to ensure your chance to catch wild Scottish trout in crystal clear water, surrounded by the most stunning scenery.
In the Autumn of each year, salmon and sea trout run the Achateny river to Loch Mudle and in the right conditions after rain, this little river provides some excellent sport for the experienced angler and beginners alike with salmon ranging between 5-12lbs.
The Package
Each year the West Highland Hunting team offers summer ‘learn to fish’ packages which can include equipping you with all the necessary equipment required. You will be taught all the techniques for fly fishing, bait fishing and the use of lures along with the basics of understanding fish and their ecology and safe means of catch and release. These packages include self-catering accommodation and are recommended for groups no larger than four people. This package is not available to children under eight years of age but all others are welcome. For the self-reliant angler, we offer packages that include the hire of a cottage and access to all fishing areas and boats with the services of a guide on the first day to show you round.
Prices include the services of your guide and transport around fishing locations.
The use of self-catering accommodation with heating/lighting and linen/towels are provided.
The Achateny river is a catch and release river system and trout lochs are limited to a maximum of 30 rod caught fish per day.
