Cathy is a professional ecologist, with a PhD in montane plant ecology.   She is a life-long climber, skier and explorer of mountain regions with a previous career in outdoor education.   In more recent years, she has developed a strong interest in deer management in the Scottish uplands.  She is working towards DSC level 2 and owns a consultancy, Mountain Environment Services, which specialises in upland land management for biodiversity benefits. Cathy has lived and worked in the Highlands for over 30 years.  Cathy leads all of our habitat and woodland surveying and monitoring.
